Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

At the heart of our approach to diversity, is to treat everyone as an individual, and to enable them to learn, to change, and to become more aware of who they are; to tap into their potential at work, and often, into their out of work lives.

Our Purpose

To create a fulfilling and purposeful workplace through helping people have conversations that matter; unleashing untapped potential in both our own team and everyone we work with.

This policy applies to all employees, contractors, clients and stakeholders and we will not tolerate discrimination, harassment or victimisation on any grounds.

Our Beliefs and Approach at Taylor Clarke

We go beyond the Equality Act which is assigned to protect age, disability, mental health, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, colour, race, religion or belief, marital status, sex and sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic under the UK Equality Act 2010.

We are also committed to preventing any harassment in the workplace, sexual or otherwise, as per the recent amendment to the Equality Act 2010: Workers Protection Act 2024.

We ask that our employees review the EHRC’s Sexual Harassment and Harassment at Work: Technical Guide, particularly Chapter 1 which gives clear guidance on what harassment and sexual harassment is and make it clear that this type of behaviour is unacceptable in the workplace.

At Taylor Clarke, we welcome and celebrate the perspectives gained through understanding and working in partnership with those with other personal differences such as personality and neurodiversity.

Diversity is at the heart of the work we do.  We see people as individuals.  No one person is more important than another person.  Our ethos of leadership development rests on the cornerstone of care for people, respect for people and belief in people.

In our leadership development programmes, coaching, coaching supervision and consultancy work we:

  • teach good diversity principles to delegates

  • challenge ‘anti-diversity’

  • we monitor – are we being inclusive, treating people equally and respecting diversity as facilitators?

  • explore any unconscious bias that appears to arise

Our delivery style is inclusive and aims to support all participants to maximise the learning experience.  We pay attention to the fact that we all have different learning styles and abilities, and some learners may be neurodivergent.

For the open courses that we provide for ILM And AoEC qualifications, before registration, we ensure that any potential participants have a conversation with our programme lead to ensure that the programme is suitable for them with regard to the level of work and commitment required, and also to confirm if any additional support is required with regard to the course materials, delivery of the course and access requirements if the course is being delivered face to face.

Our Values are hugely important to us, and we use these in our decision-making processes – e.g. when recruiting a new member of staff, weighing up financial business dilemmas, and managing commitments we have made to our colleagues and clients.  Our most important value is that of Care.  We take a lot of time to consider the Care we are taking, in our actions as consultants, as managers, and our support staff who have a lot of hands-on contact with our suppliers and customers.  Sometimes, the ideal solution will not meet everyone’s needs, but this is perhaps inevitable, and what becomes important is how we continue to show integrity, openness, and care, maintain the relationship and learn through the experience.
