John Heywood

Consultant & Coach

John has more than twenty years management experience working mainly as Project and Programme Manager in the BBC and in the charity sector. Working on projects and with project teams he became more and more interested in, and fascinated by, group dynamics, relationships, motivations and the creation of productive and pleasurable working environments.

In the past eight years John has been working as a consultant specialising in Project Management, Action Learning facilitation, coaching and mentoring and group facilitation. He holds a number of supporting qualifications including PRINCE2 and the OGC Managing Successful Programmes, the CIPD/Oxford Brookes Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring and he is an accredited coach. He is also MBTI qualified.

Recent work has included international assignments in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Austria, the Netherlands and Romania. These assignments have included elements of virtual team working and the work has been conducted in both French and English. He has been an associate of Taylor Clarke for seven years and has worked mainly with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Wood Group.

What John enjoys about his work is the variety and creativity it allows. He values continuous learning, curiosity, collaboration, enthusiasm, a willingness to go the extra mile and, above all, the people he works with.
